Helping you to grow in your career
The Speaker’s Committee has a very exciting lineup for the fall luncheons. September was our lead off month for the 2008-2009 year. Our speaker was Gould Hagler with the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia. Mr. Hagler is the Executive Director of the IIAG. His topic was A Case Study in Legislative Engineering. During this election year, it was refreshing to gain some insights into the local lawmaking at the Georgia State Capital.
In October, we will focus on a topic that every adjuster and attorney can appreciate. Lee Pruett will present his insights into the working relationship of defense counsel and adjusters. Mr. Pruitt is a local attorney with Levy & Pruett. In our contemporary world of claims adjusting, the relationship between an adjuster and defense counsel can become quite interesting, especially when coverage defenses are raised and the insured is being defended under a reservation of rights. Come to the luncheon and gain valuable insight from a skilled attorney and former adjuster. One hour of CE credits will be provided.
November should please all adjusters who handle worker’s compensation and bodily injury claims and intrigue and entertain the rest of us. Dr. David Schiff is a wonderful speaker and will discuss reading medical records. What do all those various tests mean anyway? Let Dr. Schiff enlighten you and show you an insider’s look into what the tests mean and what they were designed to tell us. One hour of CE credits will be provided.
ACA sponsors industry related luncheons beginning in September through June. During the holiday season, we partner with a local group whose focus is to provide to those less fortunate, especially the children. ACA luncheon registration begins at 11:30am with our lunch starting at noon. Kerri Crosby, Gould Hagler, Greg Presmanes Cost is $20.00, payment can be made at the door in cash or check and receipts are provided for reimbursement if needed. Though some months our location may change, the last few lunches have been held at Maggiano’s at Perimeter Mall. Advance reservation is recommended so if interested in attending, contact Assistant Treasurer, John Bobo 678-587-9262 x 102.
